Joey believed her ambition of playing soccer for the United States was out of reach when she was told she had an astrocytoma.

Joey's care team supported her throughout surgery, therapies at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, and rehab and never let her ambition of playing soccer wane. As a result of her perseverance and hard work, Joey is now a citizen of the United States. Women's Para National Team and contributed to the World Cup 2022 game-winning goal.
