Juan Sebastians was Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Juan Sebastian's big dream, born from Colombia, is to study medicine at the University of the Andes in Bogota and work at St. Jude. He met this calling when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common childhood cancer, at age 10. Now, this St. Jude leukemia survivor celebrates his high school graduation and plans for his future in medicine with great enthusiasm.
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. Also St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from 20% to 80%.
