Olivia fundraises for St. Jude in Megan's honor.

Because she lost her childhood friend Megan to cancer, teenage St. Jude supporter Olivia fundraises for St. Jude in Megan's honor.

The two girls grew up together and went to the same elementary school until a leukemia diagnosis separated the two friends in the 4th grade. Olivia’s parents gave her a smartphone so the girls could keep in touch while Megan underwent treatment at St. Jude. Sadly, Megan passed away in 2019. Olivia continues to fundraise in honor of her friend as a way for her to cope and in hopes that no other family would have to go through what Megan and her family went through.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. Also St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from 20% to 80%.
