You'd never guess that Zoe had spinal fusion surgery eight months ago if you saw her on the lacrosse field today.

Zoe was taken to Children's Hospital after her shoulder blade protruded from her back. She was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis. Dr. Schmitz, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, performed a spinal fusion and assisted Zoe in her recuperation.

Zoe played in her first lacrosse game five months after surgery and couldn't wait to tell Dr. Schmitz about it at her follow-up appointment.
